So today is Saturday. I need to prepare myself for the abrupt change from yesterday as Friday is about as close to normal as it gets. Friday It's actually almost busy. We have divers and a few students, there's activity and a nice buzz about the place. Monday occasionally gets a little busy and the rest of the week is very quiet. So down to earth with a thump!
After watching the patterns in the last weeks I decided to only run the boat 3 times a week so we actually make money on those days. The other days teaching and shore diving can be facilitated. But as my only real custom actually lives here they aren't going to dive daily. Spreading it over Monday, Wednesday and Friday allows them to decide where it fits their schedule best and I can funnel others i chat to into those days.
The weekends seems to be all local tourists from the City managing to get here but they don't come to dive. There's a few who do but they would need to book in advance as walk ins are discouraged by local new normal ordinance and those bookings have not emerged in recent weeks. Because of this I don't open 2 days a week to reduce costs. Today we are closed as nothing doing.
So i am in a pretty relaxed mood. Told Hive account@biggypauls and his missus they can pop down for a shore dive today even though we are closed and instructor phil will be teaching English to his Chinese students online so i will have a little company throughout the day. I actually quite like it.
But right now its coffee and a view before I head in. And more coffee. The view is spoiled though this morning with a bunch of irritating little shits screaming in the water from before 6am. How early do I have to get up here for some peace and fucking quiet?! Ah well more coffee
STay safe out there people wherever you may be on the planet, take care
