Hello hivers, i am back again, and today i want to talk to you about how life is as a nigerian, and what it is like, living in Nigeria.
As a Nigerian, i have been living in Nigeria all my life, and i can say its been a roller coaster, ful of ups and downs.
Life as a Nigerian can be full of life, as there are so many benefits i have received from here, such as:
Our delicious food, in which some of my favorites are Semo and Afang/Egusi, Jollof rice, Suya, and even nkwobi.
Our Talented Musicians. This is one of my favourite aspects of my country, we have the best set of Musicians, such as Wizkid, Davido, Burna boy, Rema, Buju, etc. There are often comparisms between the first three, but for me, as long as i am enjoying good music, i support all.
Lastly, One of, if not the major thing i love about Nigeria, is our lifestyle and energy. Nigeria is full of vibes, and full of people with crazy energy, and i guarantee you that there is rarely a boring day as a Nigerian.
Above all these, Living in Nigeria can have negative effects, as many people prefer staying far away, and visiting occasionally.
This being because of the daily struggles of many, to make ends meet, due to the political instability, corruption, etc. Many people have mixed feelings about staying in Nigeria, because some people feel very happy staying here, if things become better, and if they can meet their financial needs, while some people have made their minds up to leave no matter what, because they are tired of all they have gone through. The truth is that even people who live outside Nigeria, don't even examine the possibility of returning home, because they feel they can enjoy stability elsewhere, and really, who can blame them?
In order to be where we want to be, there is still a long way to go, as many things need improvement. So many people travel outside Nigeria for educational purposes, because they do not trust the education system here, and that more or less underlines where we are in some important aspects of living good life.
I live in Lagos, and over here, there are some really nice places to go where you can have a good time, some which i have visited include: ICM, Hard rock cafe, Danfo, Landmark, Lekki conservation center, IMAX, rufus and bee, upbeat, and many more.
You cant deny the fact that Lagos(Nigeria) can be fun, if u can afford to enjoy yourself, but the rate of people who cannot, is really bad, and is sad because nothing much is being done about it.
I guess its safe to say life as a Nigerian is sometimes, bad for some, and good for others.
Many people prefer to leave Nigeria, to establish themselves, so they come back here, without struggling, but when they do, they end up staying over there, because they see that there are many things they can enjoy over there, which they wouldn't here.
I have an Aunty and an Uncle, who left Nigeria for about 8 years, because they needed a change of environment, only for them to come few months ago, and are already planning to go back again Finally.
Its a shame that most people are looking forward to leaving their fatherland, but for some people, it just has to be done.
Lagos can be wild and unsafe, especially when you go out at night, many lives have been lost, even by some of our own police force.
Things are getting more expensive, such food, transportation, etc. and there doesn’t seem to be much promising signs of improvement.
One important thing is that everyone is proud to be Nigerian, regardless of where they are, or the state of our country. Most people who stay outside the country always keep in touch with what is happening over here, as some even come and visit from time to time, either to attend occasions, visit family members, as holidays, etc.
Everyone hopes for a better Nigeria, and hopefully soon, we get a better Nigeria,
Thank you and see you soon.
