The time has come that we needed to replace our old aircon unit. Our old unit was only three years old but needed to be replaced since it was under powered. We were fortunate to have been able to save enough to buy an new aircon unit despite the on going pandemic. Join me today as I take you with me to go out as we buy our new air conditioning unit.
We called a couple of stores first to inquire where we could get the cheapest price for the unit that we are looking for. We finally found one store that offers the cheapest price in our area and is just 30 minutes away from home.
The store is called Abenson and is one of the leading appliance store in the country.
These days the regulations are very strict before you could enter the store.
- You need to have a quarantine pass
- Your temperature would be taken
- You are required to wear face mask and face shield
- Your hands will be sanitized
Here is my wife looking at the split type aircon units but we are only looking for the window type. Split type units requires professional installation and would cost more.
We were suppose to bring home the aircon unit the same day. There was a miscommunication during the conversation of my wife with the staff. They didn't have the unit that we were looking for readily available. Instead they offered to have it delivered the next day. It was no problem for and I agreed to just have it delivered.

Unboxing is always sweet whenever new stuff comes in. Since my kids are so excited I have let them do the unboxing.
The remote control looks premium and is not cheaply made.

They included foam for the sidings during installation.
The back of the unit does not have any grills for protection like the units we had before. Shouldn't be any problem I guess.

Time to have it installed, we simply removed our old unit and replaced it.
This is the first time we bought a Smart aircon unit which you could connect via your mobile phone.
There are 4 modes on the unit.
- Cool - Regular operation
- Energy Saver - Fan and Compressor turns off when desire temperature is reached
- Fan - No cold air
- Dry - Used during rainy season to remove moisture in the room
You could easily install the LG ThinQ app via Google Play.
With the app you could turn on the aircon unit where ever you are even away from home.
