Day Three, of Seven, of Crappy Camera Photos. I had so much fun using my lightbox yesterday that I wanted to go back to it with some more "product photography." Luckily for me I have a house full of items that can definitely be used as products.
One of the bookcase shelves in my dining room happened to have some painted rocks on it. Perfect! One of them was even painted as a yellow lady bug.
The other two are just red and yellow rocks. My suspicion is that my son simply grew bored with painting and put them aside.
The yellow bug, however, turned out really well. It serves as a good close up, and also all alone in the far reaches of outer space. It looks cold.
And finally, what would pet rock photography be like without showing them all together and goofing off. Here the yellow bug lords over the other and flaunts having eyes, I guess.
I'm really, really happy with how these ones turned out. Lots of light is key, and lots of simple contrast to avoid confusing the camera's sensor; it already had a hard time focusing, particularly on the red rock. It really didn't take much in the way of processing at all to bring the colours out. Again, I'll repeat, these pictures came from a .6 MP camera storing it's images to a floppy disk.
