Yam is a kind of food used to be in tubers white in color and starchy in nutrition. Yam is a popular food in West Africa especially Nigeria been one of the largest yam farming. The best way to make yam available is by cultivation and planting small tubers which will later turn to be bigger tubber.
As for the yam farming there's always a season known for it. We usually starts the farming of yam during raining season so that the land will be good for the planting. If yam is planted during the dry season there's call the yam may not survive because the sun will make the planted land to be hurt then the planted yam will decay without growing
I have waited a long time for this year yam planting but the rain didn't come early as I expected. The usual time for yam planting is usually every March of every year but this year the sun was much and the rain came to be normal for planting only this April and that was when I have to make move for my yam 2025 planting.
To plant yam I have secret I usually apply and this usually makes every planted small yam tuber to germinate and grow very fast and even produces big yam tuber after harvesting. I usually goes to the market where they sell crops for planting I bought tubers of yam only from only for planting. I'm supposed to have saved some yam last year which I would have use for this year planting but I didn't have enough yam during last year yam harvesting. This is why I bought from the market.
To ensure that the yam will be good for planting I went to the market myself because some yam for planting may decay partially and when planted they'll not germinate so when buy yam for planting i used to be watchful.
Like I said for my yam to germinate fast and grow big and at last produce big yam tuber in return. I usually use a sharp knife cut off the down part of it then use the knife to give X line to the main part. This is usually from the yam cut area. The yam cutting and X line usually makes the yam to decay and germinate very fast when planted. I do this yam cutting exercise at home and then take them to the farm where land has been cultivated and ready for planting. I'll then use my hand to plant the yam in my cultivated farm land by facing the yam top up and most times plant horizontal.
