AssalamuAlaikum & Greetings Hive Family!
I have come with an update on the pea crop, as this season, along with the potato crop, the pea crop is also facing low rates. The farmers are not getting back the money they have spent on these crops and they are facing losses.
Since I am not talking about the potato crop today, I am talking about the pea crop. A bag of peas is being sold in the market for five to six hundred rupees, and the labor for the bag and its filling is 500 rupees.
If the farmer picks the pods and fills the bag, he has to pay 500 rupees to the laborer, and when it reaches the market, adding the bag and the rent, this expense goes up to 100. If the bag is sold for 600 or 700, then some charges have to be paid in the market as well, which leaves him with nothing. The expenses he spent on the crop are separate, but the expenses of taking it to the market are not covered.
Therefore, this farmer has thought of selling it by training it. Maybe by then its rate will also increase. It will go and benefit him but I don't think there is any chance of benefit but more or less some of the expenses can be recovered.
The farmer has hired labor to uproot the pea plants so that they will dry out after lying here for a few days and then he will grind them to waste with the help of a thresher.
I need advice from friends in the community on what we should do with these crops when their expenses are not being met and their prices in the market are very low. What do you people think about this? I hope you will definitely share your opinion. Thank you.
