Friends of HomeSteading Community, once again I am here with you. I know very well that getting support on Hive Platform is not only difficult but also Impossible. But I am not one of those who give up. I am interested in writing regular articles on Hive. For which I have chosen these Communities Homesteading Hive Garden Family & Friends. I am not only writing articles but also commenting on the posts of other bloggers.
I planted saffron bulbs in my home garden a month ago and their care is ongoing. Now their stems have formed and have become quite big. Some of the bulbs I had planted have dried up and are lost.
Be it saffron or any other crop, the growth of weeds is a natural process that we cannot stop under any circumstances. The reason for this could be the seeds of these weeds falling into the ground.
To destroy the weeds, herbicide sprays should be used, or Earth's crust with the help of Shavel agricultural tools should be done. In my opinion, the earth's crust is better for the home gardener as it destroys the weeds and also softens the soil. When the soil becomes weeds roots, the roots spread, and the plant grows.
I used a shovel to destroy all the weeds in the saffron and uprooted them so that they could not grow again. This is a bit difficult because they are soft and break at the top. So they have to be carefully pulled out of the roots. I pulled them out of the soil with the roots and put them on the side so that they would dry out and not be able to grow again. As you can see, they are completely dry now but I will dry them further and use them as fertilizer later.
Using the shovel, I have not only cleared the weeds but also made the soil soft and fertile. This will not only improve the growth of the plant but will also enable it to use all its nutrients.
Saffron is valuable and its cultivation is also a lot of work. It is cultivated in different countries like Afghanistan, Iran, India, Spain, Pakistan etc. Its flower has three red petals which can be broken with the help of hands. Its price can be around 1500 rupees, which can be around 90 to 100 hives. It is better to make sure that it is pure before buying it.
Thank you
