We have new tenants on our homestead - 3 turkeys.
I've never kept turkeys before, but everything happens for the first time. While it is too early to share impressions, they are just settling in, but it is already noticeable that they are much slower than chickens - while turkeys open their mouths, chickens have time to eat everything. Maybe it's temporary.
Together with my little assistant, we moved the hay to another place and covered it with awnings so that it wouldn't get wet
In parallel with this, I am engaged in harvesting firewood.
Since last winter I have gathered a lot of willow branches and trunks. In addition, there are a lot of dead trees in my forest that I've been sorting it out for couple of years.
Yesterday I found a couple of dried lime trees and today I spent the whole day sawing and chopping firewood.
Half of the zucchini harvest was harvested this week. I must say that this year's harvest turned out to be a record.
I have not grown such a quantity yet. The manure pile exceeded all my expectations. Next year I will increase the size of the pile and plant something else there besides zucchini.
