Hello, Hive.
When cultivating rice in fields that are not swampy, you may encounter several challenges, such as a significant outbreak of weeds that can be difficult to control.
One harsh reality of insufficient water in your rice field is that the seedlings tend to dry out. However, if the soil is not completely dry, the rice plants themselves may also struggle to dry out, leading to an entirely different challenge.
Weeds that thrive in swampy areas tend to be less problematic than those in merely wet fields. In swampy regions, the weeds are often less dense and not as bushy as they used to be.
On wet ground, like on my farm, weeds grow at a rate twice as fast as the rice I have planted, making it extremely difficult to control them.
Using herbicides is essentially the only solution for dealing with such aggressive weeds, as manual weeding can be back-breaking and nearly impossible.
Herbicides can only be applied once the rice reaches a reasonable size; however, by then, the weeds have often already grown to a tremendous height and this can be done only when there is water in the farm even if it's just little water is okay
