hello every one special greetings, i'm delighted to finally make a comeback during these season, here in Nigeria is our planting season and here around these times all hands get busy at our farm lands
the planting season starts around mid February, during when there is no rainfall and the harmattans season is fading out totally and the bushes are very much dry, this helps us bush clearing and burning,
first we clear the farmlands, gather all them one place then set them ablaze
the following week is the tilting the ground or preparing the soil for planting, now these depends on what you wish to plant so the soil preparation is deferent
here me and my mom on our farmland tilting the ground, we're planting our cassava stem, this cassava plant is a root crop, so we need a hoe to dig the ground not too deep then bury the stem after months its begins to geminate, usually it takes about 8months to harvest, then process to cassava granular for the making of garri, a popular Nigerian food
while planting the cassava stem we plant alongside it our maize seeds, normally I'll place two stem and four seeds of maize then cover
in just few days the corn will pop up, by first week of march the rains will begin dropping, all though these depends on the location in Nigeria, up to April planting is still on going with scarce rain drop
by June July the rains will come down pouring heavily and our plantings will blossom as the rains come down to water our crops, we believe and hope so well that the harvest his year will be bountiful
