It just doesn't want to stop dumping snow on us. I woke yesterday morning to another half an inch and then it continued to snow for part of the morning. In the end we got another 2 inches during the day with the last spits happening now before the warm up hits the next days.
My appointment was at 11am and we all headed to town so they could go to the bank and shopping while I went to the get my meds. It took over an hour to get into see her and we talked for over an hour. She highly recommended I reapply for VA disability for my eczema and my back due to my knee. I stopped going to the VA for medical care years ago after a number of pretty poor experiences with them. At her behest I am going to get myself back into their system this year and I will get my forms submitted in the next month or so to see if they will up my rating at all.
It was a bit before 2pm when I got home and and the boys were not far behind. They went back to town a little later to pickup my Prednisone and while they were out I had grabbed my mandolin to spend a little time back on it now that my hands are not a raw weeping mess. I went to give it a quick tuning but I found my two E strings were dead. Apparently the bridge had settled on that side and I had to loosen all the strings to get it raised up so the strings weren't sitting on the frets. Now that my hands are in less constant pain I am able to get back at it.
I go the text that they were on their way home so I went out to the driveway and ran the snowblower around a few areas where we park and a bit of the circle drive. it was only a few inches so after getting some key tire paths done I grabbed the shovel and worked on some of the smaller paths. The next days are likely going to give us some rain so the farm could turn into a seriously sloppy mess if the temps warm too much.
I put the shovel up, hauled firewood in the house, then got the Capitals game on to watch Ovechkin become the number 2 greatest scorer in NHL history behind only Gretzky. He got 801 in the first period with a nice wrist shot through the goalies legs. It took until the end of the 3rd period when Ovi tried to pass the puck off for an empty net goal but he got the puck back on the boards and with a quick flip he tossed the puck in the empty net for #802. One of those times that I really wanted to witness history being made in a sport.
They were home from town and I got my wonderful, anti-itching, anti-scratching, keeping my skin from looking like a disgusting leper Prednisone. I got the highest strength I can and now can get more whenever I have to. I am not quite adequately able to express how much it means for me to have this Prednisone, it is the "miracle" that takes away the maddening itching that plagues me at times and saves my skin from the destruction that the itching leads to.
We stayed up rewatching the rest of the first season of Dirk Gently with Elijah Wood. I hoping my skin will be good enough that I will be able to get back out and soak as it's been a while. Today we have a bunch of people stopping by to pickup co-op orders, I have snow to move as another half inch has just fallen, I have to get a new bale into the sheep which will take a bit of work, and we have presents that need to be wrapped for the boys.
