We are back to the regularly scheduled programming after the trip. The boys went to school first thing in the morning and both were pretty excited to get to tell their classmates about their adventures. It took some convincing to get them to take only a few things with them so as not to lose them.
After getting my clothes washed and dried since I needed my fleece pants I headed outside. In order to get into the farm Tuesday I had to push the gate open and I turned it off so it wouldn't break itself against the snow bank. Yesterday mid morning I headed out with the shovel to clear all around it and get it back on. It isn't a super powerful gate opener so it won't push the snow very well.
With the gate cleared I got the snow blower going again and finished the rest of the circle drive and pathways around the farm. I also excavated the trailer which I will likely be needing to go pickup grain soon. It is a serious help having the snow blower running as it took me only a couple hours to get the whole farm cleared, at least the places needing it.
Mid day I watched ManUtd advance in the FA cup with a convincing win over West Ham while I worked on house chores.
I picked the boys up from school then once parked back at the house I got the topper pulled off the truck. It is in nowhere near great condition but it worked well enough to keep all our stuff almost completely dry during our trip. It helped that there was limited rain and mostly snow so it wasn't nearly as bad as it would have been were it warmer. The plastic bins also did their job perfectly to keep everything out of any moisture. It has to come off as I am not able to haul grain barrels in the truck with it on.
The topper gets set back on the truck it came off of for storage. I use the bed to store the trampoline parts during the winter but the bed is now coated in snow and ice. No big deal though as the trampoline doesn't go up until the snows are done so it will have ample time to thaw out.
I got dinner made and the boys and I fed before I took them to wrestling practice. They are both going again tonight since they missed a few practices while we were gone. The best part of it all is that the tournament this Saturday will be mostly our Riverside kids so the boys will VERY likely be wrestling against their team mates so it likely won't be ultra competitive or as much so as when against other schools. There are so many kids in our program that are all the same size so it should be a more fun tournament.
Today it's snowing AGAIN but not a lot, though still annoying. I am having to reset my body now after the trip where I wasn't eating right at all and my eczema blew up again. I am hoping that I can calm it back down quickly now that I am back to my diet that had me largely cleared up before we left.
I am hesitating on my greenhouse supply order as it will be delivered by Home Depot and getting a fork lift into the farm with a load on it would be likely pretty much impossible at this point, plus I have nowhere that I could put it with all the snow still. So I will have to wait until we thaw out a bit before I can order the supplies. I can order the bender and coupler parts as they will ship.
