Was up to see the sun shining through the remnants of clouds yesterday morning and more cycle racing from Europe was on while I got my post written.
I gathered the rest of the tools and parts I needed and headed up to my client's house to get the 3 fruit trees planted and run a drip line to them. I spaced the trees out to give each a good amount of space from the fence and from each other. 4 foot from the gate opening, 6 feet from the fence, then 8 feet between the 2 plum trees then 10 feet to the apple tree on the other end.
She had 3 berry bushes to plant so after going through the irrigation lines I found zone 1 has 3 pop-ups and then there were 2 rotors by the deck. The 3 pop-ups cover the 3 berry bushes and I removed the rotors as they just shot right at the fence and did nothing.
I gave the blueberry an extra foot of space from the fence but then moved the raspberry and blackberry a bit closer. The blackberry is on the end and despite it being a "bush" form will likely still grow tendrils that will then be able to climb the fence.
I ran the drip line to the 3 trees and extended the line for 2 more potential trees in the future. She is quite pleased with how it all came out.
In my digging in the irrigation lines I found that the zone 3 has 6 rotors that cover the area with the trees. That zone is not going to be used except for during fire danger weather where she can run the rotors to wet down the yard to reduce potential for embers to catch.
I have more work for her this next Wednesday when I will cap the one irrigation line to cut off the rotors by the deck, install a new kitchen faucet, remount the tv, then I have another tree to take down.
R was at a birthday party at the skating rink and I managed to get done with the work in time to go pick him up.
Before 2pm I was out for a ride on my bike. I could feel a tinge of ICK in the back of my throat where my nasal passage connected... That tinge of sick that was just sitting there festering. I rode up to the c-store then into the neighborhood and then onto my straight shot road.
I wore my new cycling jacket which is kick ass. Little Donkey Andy is the brand and it was a bit too warm once I was going but just unzipping it made it just fine.
I wasn't riding hard and was cruising to get some time and miles done.
Looking at my metrics after the ride I found I have had a pretty solid increase in my capacities. 33, 35, and 62 a couple weeks ago.
My biggest gain is in my Aerobic capacity which increased 19 points. My endurance has kind of always been there but is increasing. Which is good as I will need the endurance for the 50 mile ride in 5 weeks.
The damn things keep popping up on the side of the road and I found another slew of them. 4 of the 6 charge and I got their batteries to 100% and will take them apart this weekend. One of the things that disgusts me fully is the horrendous flavours these things are... Watermelon and uber potent smelling berry... YACK!!!!
By the time it was about 6pm my body went into sick mode and I was freezing despite sweating. My appetite was gone and I could only shudder in pain wrapped in my robe. We soaked for a bit in nice hot water but even then my body was fucked up. Last night SUCKED HORSE DICK! I was shaking and sweating all night long and I got at most an hour between waking and having to pee. ALL NIGHT LONG. My Garmin sleep record looks awful.
I got up at 5am this morning and have been wrappe3d in a blanket which helped as now I am not shaking like a leaf and the ick feeling is diminished in my head.
Today I want to go to North40 to look at buying the Dewalt battery operated chainsaw to use as my climbing saw. We have a lot of house cleaning to do as well.
