Overnight and into yesterday morning we had a rather healthy wind storm come through the region and I found that my truck cover had been pushed against the eaves and had tipped my tool table over inside and the pop-up over the sled got tipped. Branches had littered the farm but no other damage we could see until we left and found the trees that were fallen along the round.
Both boys had dentist check-ups and J has baby teeth that have to come out.
After dropping both boys at school I grabbed the axe and headed down to the trees to cut them up and push them to the side of the road. Nicely it was all super soft wood so the axe did the job easily.
The weather was meh but I got my ass out for a bike ride in the winds. Decided to go up the Yale incline and the shoes/pedals helped a lot. I then rolled up through the neighborhood by the lake and had to deal with an asshole in a truck backing out of their driveway, they saw me coming, then crawled along and turned left without any signal of any kind. I went to go around them on the left since they were nearly stopped and as I went around they turned left. I rode off into the dirt right around the nose of the truck. Really pissed me off. Then it took me 5 minutes to get my damn right foot clipped back into the pedal. Still working on that process while moving.
I have cycling jerseys coming so I can shed the vest and stop getting so much drag. I can feel the effect it has when up over 25mph and am finding my bike to be getting drag at speed... It IS a mountain bike I am using on the road.
Not a bad ride otherwise despite the wind. I am getting stronger for sure as I can feel it in different places on my rides that are getting easier feeling.
This chain printed really nicely at 100% infill and is rather strong. I will do a weight test with it today to see just how much it can handle. Printed 3 plates of them over the day.
SOOOO... While I am riding I always have the corner of my eye on the side of the road. (Thanks Dad for instilling that in me! I have found many nifty things over the years thanks to it.) Now I have my eye tuned and find e-cigs in various spots along some of the roads. These things are supposedly disposable and most people just throw them away when done with them but they each have a LiPo battery in them. 13450 or 13500 sized to be precise. I stop and gather the e-cigs and then take them apart to remove the battery and sometimes the usb-c connection/charging circuit. I have almost a dozen batteries now thanks to the 2 I found on the ride.
Wanting to grill for dinner I got a fire going but then was raking the mass of pine cones and needles and decided to kick it into a nice burn pile.
The steaks grilled nicely as the fire was kept fed.
I got the trailer hooked up for the grain run I have done already.
Then got a soak in for once before bed.
Today is #birthday and it is currently snowing. I was up at 3:30am and have been to Spokane for the grain already in the snow. Thankfully I went this early as the road was a bit shitty in places and very nice to have zero traffic around to worry about. 2 inches so far of wet heavy snow. Will empty the grain once it is light and not snowing so much. This afternoon I have a Thumbtack job in town to swap a microwave over an oven.
