HELLO HIVE
This weekend as I walk through my maize and beans farm I took note of the wins and the setbacks, the image captures several parts of my farms showing real progress in some parts and real challenges in others.
✅ What’s Working
So far growth has followed a good trend with little setbacks in terms of growth, non of my crops are experiencing stunted growth so far although some don't look totally nourished due to their color and size.
❌ What’s Not Working
🌱 Uneven Growth
Though growth has been good but it has been an uneven one, while so have grown so well others are catching up from behind though the seeds were all planted at the same time, but that's the thing with plant, animals, and even humans.
🌤 Delayed Germination in Some Rows
Some rows took a while before germinating, that's a major cause of the uneven growth, while some maize seeds took 3 days to germinate others took quite longer.
🧠 Lessons Learned So Far
- Timeliness is Key
It is very important to do everything at the right time as a farmer, there's no place to proscastinate if you are to make any major breakthrough as a farmer.
- Weeds Can’t Be Ignored
Weeds can completely destroy all the effort we've put into our work the moment we try to ignore it's presence and the damages that the weeds can cause our crops
- Soil Health Matters
The more you take care of the soil health the better it's nutrients gets and the chances of a good harvest at the end of the day.
🔜 What’s Next?
My rice field needs a lot of attention now so I will be moving away from my maize and beans farms, I will check on them once a while.
