Hello Hive
Happy new day to us all, I hope that our night was great and that we had some sound rest?
Do you often hasten your fruits ripening artificially ?
Often times different sets of chemicals are used to achieve this ? They may be harmful to our health, hence there is virtue in patience and waiting for our crops to get ripen by themselves.
Eventually our long awaited scotch bonnets are now getting ripped and harvest will soon began. We have waited for this far too long. The pepper took too much time to grow and produce fruits, even the ripening is still delayed. We have bought these new specie of pepper from the seed store hoping that they will give us some added benefit of a shortened growth time and better productivity but having planted these for such a long time I can see that these particular pepper takes so much time to grow
Although it is visibly clear now that the pepper can produce much fruits. The plant has grown quite larger and better than the other pepper species I have often seen and since growth is a continuous process they will continue to grow bigger and bigger as we progress into harvest.
Once you spot some few of the pepper fruits ripening, it doesn't take so much time before all of the peppers gets ripe together.
Meanwhile the pepper farm is getting filled up with grasses again. It doesn't take so much time for grasses to grow and fill up the farm. We have carried out some two sets of manual weeding here already and yet it's difficult to control grasses.
At this stage of growth one can actually apply moderate selective herbicide to control weed. Since the plants have grown far above the ground, the chemicals will do well not to harm the plant or cause them to wither. So long as they are chemicals that are not hazardous to humans.
There is a lot of work to be done in the farm at this times especially as the rains have begun and we will start cultivating the grains and other tubers. Whenever there is hardly a time to engage in manual weeding we often employ the help of these herbicides to control weeds among crops.
