Hello Hive
Another farm products is ready for harvest.
So currently we have rice, beans and this guinea corn all ready at the same time for harvest.
We need more laborers to join us with work in the fields but the cost of hiring labour is even more expensive than all the food products we want to harvest collectively.
Labourers agree to work for 5k on a daily basis.
Having 3-4 hands mean that we will be paying 20k per day to hire labour.
Thinking of the other farm inputs from cultivation, plantings, weeding and fertilization, all these were done with money and if we don't manage to beat down the cost of growing this crop.
We will end up at a loss.
Collectively we want to put together all the harvest from Corn, rice, millet and beans to see how much we have earned from this years farming period.
Even though we planted yams, potatoes fluted pumpkin which we have consumed before now.
These are the products that looks more commercial and with good harvest we may sell off part of the products to earn some money.
Cassava is a Biannual crop and the budget for growing this is made separately.
The ones planted this year will be harvested in the next year after 24months of growing in the soil, even though some specie take up to 36months.
The guinea corn has spent up to 5months after planting and you can see how heavy the harvest looks.
We have placed all these harvest on priority scale since some products can get damaged before the others when not harvested on time.
The beans and rice will be harvested first then we come back to this since our workforce is low.
By weekend I should have post on how we are harvesting rice and what this involves.
