Hello Hive.
Yesterday was Sunday a resting day and the day went just the way we want it. After service in church I ate some sunptous meal and then attended a concert. It was a great and beautiful time.
Right after getting back from church we were deliberating in what to eat before some vegetables saved us.
Can you imagine that at this time of the year tomatoes are so expensive that no one can simply but then cor cooking.
We were meant to prepare some rice and stew yesterday but that wasn't a possibility as the price of tomatoes were on the high side. We had to seek for alternative to make the soup for our rice.
This was when some vegetables came in very handy. I never know how much we have missed eating rice and vegetables until I prepared some yesterday.
A neighbor gave me some water leaves to be used to prepare the vegetables soup and I was so excited.
I have only recently planted my own water leave here and they are not yet ready for consumption. This is some vegetables stew I had prepared with the water leaves right from the garden.
With this I totally understand how important vegetables are to us and why we must plant and keep some.
Some of the old stump of vegetables that survived the dry season in my compound here are these Scent leaves plant.
We often add it to our meals each time we cook to make room for easy digestion. For anyone having stomach challenge this is often very good remed. Just add some to the meal Beeing cooked and your stomach will not have any challenge.
My fluted pumpkins of 3years has come alive again and is beginning to grow and produce more leaves. Can you imagine that these fluted pumpkins have survived for 3years now and has continued it's growth. At first I thought that this crop is a binnanual crop but I can see that these are capable of surviving for more years.
I'm highly expectant of the growth of my veggies as I'm currently sourcing for seeds to plant more.
Vegetables can be used to make any soup for us especially when tomatoes becomes too expensive for us to purchase. We didn't plant tomatoes this time around and this is the reason for the challenges we are facing
