Hello Hive
This is the corn that was planted about some 3weeks ground on plain ground without tilling the land and we have been watching to see it's growth progress wether it will have any challenge as a result of the non tillage of the land or not
Since it has gotten a bit difficult to till the ground now people are begining to try this new method. There are no tractors to help farmers with this work and a lot of labourers do not want to engage in such hard labour anymore.
I'm so glad that there was a heavy downpour over the night because the ground had been pretty dry and the corn were begining to feel the absence of rainfall. By the time we will be in the farm in some few mins time we can be able to check on the corn and see how revived they get.
Thay haven't had any challenge growing so far and it wouldn't be taking too much time from now before we begin to weed the grasses off the corns.
The control herbicides added before planting the corns have been able to keep the grasses at bay and none has grown to bother the corns yet and even before they do that the weeding and clearing of the corn field would have been done.
A good portion of th corn didn't germinate after planting. It is either some birds picked and ate them up or something else that didn't permit th corks to germinate.
It is very common to plant corn and not have all of them germinate, a repeated planting is often carried out to cover of the gap spaces. Once that is not done the corn will be scarcely dispersed and this reduce yield to some extent too. Proper planting is important as well as monitoring of all the growth conditions.
There is still more and more of this corn to be planted and for a grain we will be expecting to save up at least 100grams of these or more you should be expecting to see us cultivate and plant more corn.
Tomorrow is the Muslim Festive celebration hence we would be in the farm today for some harvest. Vegetables would be harvested and taking to the farm fresh for those who would be interested in making some delicacies tomorrow. Loads of vegetables are ready for harvest from the fluted pumpkins to jute mallow and water leaves.
