Hello Hive
Growing corn is one of the easiest farming exercise that one can engage in. This has been one of the most stress-free activities in the farm. Unlike vegetables with too many requirements for growth the corn have thrived successfully during this dry season. It has been one of the covering edges for the many losses that would have been experienced in this farm. This is the reason that the gardeners are happy to have adopted this mixed farming methods.
This is the second time corn is being planted in this season among the vegetables growing here., the first session planting and harvesting has been completed and you can see the massive progress achieved with this.
The plant doesn't bother much for water and since the soil here is very rich it has remained green and productive.
Now the corns are already approaching its tasseling stage which it will start bringing out their buds after fertilization, meaning that in about 6weeks from now we should have some corn🌽cobs with food on them here.
Some labourers came looking for jobs in the farm yesterday and I was so surprised because normally most of these people do not like working during the dry times like this. They often go in search of other jobs, the dry periods like this one often create so much discomfort with weeding and other activities. There is usually too much dust in the air and the sun is typically on the high side.
As it now seam like they needed some money they came around to work, for this week there is a lot of weeding to be done in the farm, starting from the fluted pumpkins farm unto the vegetables and down here everywhere is filled up with grasses.
After getting some help they were paid to clear off this portion of the farm and now we don't have to bother about too much labour weeding from one farm to another.
Today will be a perfect day to pass in some water into the farm to cover off every root of the plants as they may have been exposed during the weeding. A little while from now this will be producing some food.
