I want to use this medium to greet all great Hivers. How has been your day so far, hope you are all doing good? I'm positive minded that it's all well and fine.
Before I go deeper on my narrative journey how Poultry farm business has improved self-employment in Nigeria, I want to quickly give brief meanings of what "Poultry farm business" and what "self-employment means. To start with, Poultry farm business is the process or means of rearing livestock such as Broiler birds, layer birds and what have you with the intention that you are them on sales and make profit. Normally, there are many people that do livestock just for consumption purposes.
What's self-employment?
Meanwhile, self-employment is when an individual is an employer instead of an employee. In other words, this is when an individual finds his or her way out to create economical align business for himself or herself. There are lot of varieties of businesses out there that have made people to be self-employed. As at 2022, the percentage of self-employment in Nigeria was 37.5% or thereabout.
Poultry farm business and self-employment.
Poultry farm business has been of the businesses that has given lot of people the chance to be self-employed. The historical antecedent of the development of poultry farm business is one that's near historical. What I mean by this is that, people starting embracing poultry farm business in Nigeria is something that's most recent, which was during the tenure of the past immediate government.
To shed more light to aforementioned fact, it was the decision of the past government to close land borders linking neighboring countries where most livestock were being imported into Nigeria that gave the chance for home made chicken product to start booming. Currently, poultry farm business has now become business that people have embraced and still embracing. What I mean by still embracing is that, people are still coming into the business hugely.
In conclusion, Poultry farm business has given everyone the chance to be self-employed by rearing Broiler birds. The courageous thing about the business is that, it's not necessary that you have to start big. It's what can start small and grow the business to whatever where you want it to be. So the role that that it has played to make certain percentage of people to be self-employed shouldn't be in any way be underrated.
