Flexibility and adaptability is the hardest skill for people I think. Jamie and I are both air signs so we roll with that and thrive on it - bring it on. Even in our 'conventional' house (after living in trucks and buses and off grid, so we totally get what life is for you guys, more than most) we are ready for crises with back up systems for fuel and supplies and thank goodness, building connection with neighbours that ARENT based on drama. Actually it's quite a street with paramedics next door, a chippy (carpenter) with a Finnish wife and a French couple next door, environment advocate across the road, a bee keeper.. and they are just the ones we have met! Plus our union has already weathered twenty years of heat and storms :) ... I don't doubt you and Vincent are brimming with energy and vigour and that the first few years together will be wild... I have to remind myself (and reading this DOES remind me) of our first five odd years where we settled into our place together.
I bloody hope you come across a cheap and effective way to get that roof fixed! Damp and endless rain is enough to test anyone's spirits.
On another note, I just had a dream of you guys this morning
I'd run into you at a market... Vincent didn't recognise me but you immediately did and were very warm in your spirit. It was really lovely to see you both. You took me to your land, and it wasn't raining but very, very dry!
