Hello homesteaders, hope we're doing okay... It's so good sharing my agricultural experience in this community of which I have also learnt alot of things through other memebers posts. #Homesteadingcommunity has boosted my knowledge in terms of agriculture. Special thanks to all the Admins and moderators of this amazing community for their immense support.
It's good to be back home after three months in a rural community, we're now on holiday, I'll definitely miss my farm over there. But all the same I also have a small garden here, which I'll be showing you guys around later where I have cassava, maize, guinea corn, vegetables, moringa, pawpaw, mango etc.
Today I'll be showing us the little harvest I made from my maize farm. It's that time of the year where maize is very surplus and you see it almost everywhere.
The time of harvest is a very happy time for farmers, as it's a time of reaping ones labour, you get to see the results of your work over time.
Moreso farming is a very good thing as you would spend less buying foodstuffs as you're already a custodian of it, with the little I have in my farm it's enough for my family and I to enjoy whenever we feel like eating anything on the farm.
For instance, we eat maize anytime we feel like eating it, we're in its season and it's not a bad idea to enjoy it while it last.
Maize can be eaten in different forms;
It can be roasted, cooked/boiled, can be cooked with beans, it can also be grinded and taken as pap.
Subsistence agriculture has really helped me alot. I can't deny that fact... Now that the price of foodstuffs is on the increase everyday, it's best to practice agriculture.
Like I always say "Agriculture is life, do well to invest in it."
Thanks for reading.
