Hi Everyone,
It is another beautiful day and another great start of the new week. I was in my birds pen today doing the needful by carrying out my necessary daily routine. After cleaning my birds feeders and drinkers, I filled them up again with feeds and water respectively and while my birds are busy eating and drinking, I take my time to hang around in one side corner of the pen observing their activities to know they are all active.
Following a daily routine with my broilers bird is not just only about filling up their drinkers with water or their feeders with feeds but it is about looking at their environment whether it is convenient and observing their activities to know if any one among the birds is not active or sick.
Taking your time to observe or monitor your birds can really help you to prevent a great disaster that may befall your poultry farm business and that's what help me today. Monitoring your birds time to time will help you to identify the sick birds and knowing that one if your bird is sick will help you to take the needful action to prevent the diseases from spreading and other birds from being infected.
While taking my time to observe my birds today as they are busy eating and drinking. I noticed this particular dude suspicious movement. This particular birds is not eating or drinking when other birds are busy eating and drinking and most importantly, they way it's moving is not alright, walking as if it just coming out from a pool. Immediately I noticed this, I have to take the immediate precaution. There is a say that "prevention is better than cure". To avoid the disease from spreading or other birds being infected then the first step I took is isolating the particular birds.
Isolating infected birds is a very important step one must always follow in the poultry farm to prevent other birds from being infected and this will give one time to observe or monitor the certain sick birds, to identify the kind of sickness or infection that befall it and this will give one the good ideas on which treatment to give to the sick bird.
And for now, I have isolated the sick bird which discovered in my birds pen today and I will take my time to monitor the birds activities to know which medication to be given but for now I have administer some antibiotics for the bird and I will have to wait patiently to know the bird reaction and what is the next thing to do.
