14 AMP:For if you forgive people their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 AMP:But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses. (Matthew 6:14-15)
What does it means to forgive
To forgive means letting go of the wrong things people (someone) did to you.
Why should we forgive men their trespasses.
- As the children of God we must learn to forgive others because we are likeness of Christ, since we are living in his likeness then we should also do what he commands us to do (to forgive)
- if we forgive men their trespasses, our father who is in heaven (God) will also forgive our trespasses, when we sin and come to him for forgiveness he will forgive us.
Learn to forgive others so that God will also forgive you.
Keep his commandments, forgive one another just as Christ as forgiven you.
Forgive men their trespasses. It's doesn't matter what they did to you, for the sake of God and his words forgive them so that your heavenly father will also forgive you.
