Open Church is an initiative I first started a year or two ago with the Christian-trail community. I thoroughly enjoyed the Open Church posts which led to a lot of engagement, so I’m hoping I can do this again every Sunday in our Christian Fellowship community. Open Church is a weekly post that aims to be a place where Christians on Steem can hang out, encourage and build up one another, and reflect the love of Christ. The church is not a building, but is made up of people who have been transformed by God’s grace.
Steem is not all about money, but it’s also a community of real people with real needs. So let us be a community of brothers and sisters that can Truly support one another with our real lives. Hope we can put aside the monetary aspect of Steem and enter into authentic fellowship with one another.
Each week I will be putting up a new post with a new topic or theme for discussion. But feel free to come here just to fellowship and be a blessing to one another. Whatever denominational background your from, or if you’re just curious about the Christian faith, everyone is welcome.
So feel free to share a link to your favourite worship song, share a word of encouragement, a prayer request, or introduce yourself.
Today’s theme is: Besides the Bible, what book have you been reading recently that has challenged you and stirred your faith?
I remember doing this topic in one of the previous Open Church posts and got some very good book recommendations, so I’m hoping we can have some nice discussions here.
Two of the books I recommended in my initial post were Radical by David Platt and Crazy Love by Francis Chan. A book I’m currently reading for my theology studies is Communicating for a Change by Andy Stanley. I would highly recommend this book for pastors, preachers, or anyone who does public speaking.
How about you? Feel free to share a book recommendation, a song or a scripture, or simply feel free to hang out here.
