What happens to good, thoughtful posts after their 7 day reward window?
Do they get remain on the blockchain only as a distant memory that nobody visits anymore?
Sometimes, when I search for information on HIVE, I end up finding what I’m looking for in a very old post. Sometimes, years old!
These old posts are obviously not eligible for upvotes anymore, so you know what I do? I give them a little tip. That’s right, the little gift icon on the bottom is for tipping creators directly from your wallet.
And I think it’s a fantastic little tool to show appreciation and encouragement for creators that we believe adding value to the Hive community by helpings us learn, entertain us or inspire us, and I think we should use it more.
I think we should encourage a culture of patronage here on HIVE!
There’s lots of amazing art, music, tutorials and thought-provoking posts out there that are no longer eligible for upvotes and we should reward it.
Not only could we inspire creators to keep creating and improving the quality of their videos, blogs and research, we might even attract new community members from outside. Imagine that!
Plus, building community is what HIVE is all about. By sharing some of our spare HIVE with our fellow creators we are walking the walk of community building.

This one is pretty cool, but I think needs to have a lower fee. It currently charges 3%
V4V app
The V4V app which by the way lets you create these cool QR codes to send to your friends and followers. They can pay this Lightning invoice with Bitcoin over the Lightning network, and you'll receive #HIVE in your HIVE account.
We just need to build the patronage culture a bit.

Do you have any other ideas for income streams from creators?
Maybe tipping is not the answer, but I don't know; I just think older content could be rewarded somehow.
Could there be a way to reward older posts from the HDF? (maybe I'm giving myself ideas here)
