"Do you have water? Please give me two sachets." The elderly man who has a shop close to mine asked as he entered my space. He had exhausted his bag of water, and he doesn't buy from the shops around; he only buys from the trucks that supply them. Do you know why he doesn't buy from the shops? Just read on.
"No, no, no. I've exhausted mine, and I haven't had the opportunity to go to the nearest mini depot to buy more. I just walked down to the shop close to us to buy two sachets to drink, and I have just one left. I can give you the remaining one if you wish," I responded, stretching out my hand to give him the one sachet left.
"No ooh! I don't drink water or eat anything from these shops. Do you want them to poison me?" He sounded serious at the same time, and I didn't think much of it because I knew that already. He's so superstitious that he believes he could be poisoned by the shop owners around us if he buys anything from them. This is because he is not on talking terms with them.
Can you use your money to buy poison?
Growing up, we were made to believe that as long as money is used to purchase food or drink, any evil intention placed on it can never materialize with negative effects on the purchaser or buyer. But this isn't the case in a literal poison situation because if someone actually uses their money to buy real poison to drink, the effect will be seen instantly.
