Interview Gone Wrong

Well, this interview didn't go as planned in any way, I was sure my ancestors were looking down at me from the great beyond and saying, "be playing," to all of my thoughts.

It started when I woke up the morning of the interview and couldn't remember any of those things I had taken my time to read and memorize for the past one week.

I brushed through my books and decided to read it on my way down to the venue. I took my bath and mid bathing, water stopped coming. Well, I had to use my towel to clean the soap on my body and go get dressed. As you can see, it was no looking like it at all.

One of the worst shock came when I find out that the suit I had ironed just the day before was looking rough, as if I had used it to fight somebody or something. I began to think and ask myself questions, "did I not iron it?" "I did." Well, what would you have me do, I put it on as it is.

As I stepped out of my room, the sitting room was unusually filled up, that's not a common thing in my house, I told them good bye and someone responded with, "sha don't go and disgrace us there o,"

"Make una talk out." My mum added.

I was about to go back and find out who talked first... Something like... "Wey gu da tin." In Funnybros voice..😂😂

All thanks to God, I was able to get a bus fast, I brought out a sheet of paper I had tore along and began to read.

I got to the place in time, met others who came for the interview sitting down in the reception. I sat there too, everyone was busy pressing laptops, looking serious and all. Immediately I knew I had no chance, what exactly do I have to offer here, is like na only me no serious with my life. Will instill bring out that torn sheet of paper to read in this kind of setting 🤦

Not long after, they began to call us in. The first lady went in, and in less than 5 minutes, she was out... Everyone started calling her.."sup," "how did it go," " what did they ask you...." Well, she didn't answer anyone o, she was just smiling like someone that ate breakfast 💔

Then the Jagaban was called, me, myself, and I.

I stood up with all confidence and went in.

"Good Morning, sir... Ma." I said.

"Morning, you can have your sit." A lady said.

"Thank you for the opportunity you've given me to sittttttt." I said, dragging the sittttttt when I realized I was sounding like... 😏

Omo, was I being sensible like that.

Then they asked me the first question...

"Tell us a ijt yourself."

A very simple one at that, but my brain decided to go on a sabbatical leave at that moment. Everything just disappeared, I couldn't even make out what my name or surname was...

"God!" That was what came out of my mouth.

Immediately I hold my mouth, smiled and began to say some confused things, from my name, to my hobbies and how much Nigeria is affecting me.

"Yes sir, yes ma... Nigeria is frustrating." I concluded.

They looked at me with a kind of eyes, I was so sure they were thinking if I was okay, even i doubt if I'm really okay.

"Okay. What do you want to work here?"
That was when second question.

"Because I need a job." I responded almost immediately.

I didn't know if that was right or not, but then... I need a job.

Then another question was asked, and while answering it I went totally offline/offtrack.

One of them told me that was not their question, guess what I responded with.

"They are related, sir." I said sounding so confident.

Truthfully, they are not related in any way.

Then came the last question...

"Do you have any question for us?"

I feel elated...

"When can I resume?" I responded quickly.

They just looked at themselves, smiled and asked me to step out for the next person.
