Welcome to my weekly prompt on healthcare system.
With regards to the Nigeria healthcare system, the health care system and how it's been run and manage differs according to it's location.
Seriously Nigeria as a very large country should have been far better than what the health system is now in our current situation.
Nigeria as a country and a member of world health organization (WHO) IS been affected by so many things and these things a seriously causing a bridge in the healthcare system, thereby affect both care giving system and prevention and rehabilitation of health itself and also services that is being rendered by doctors, nurses and other healthcare teams..
The situation that is affecting our Nigeria a country include the following:
The payment of nurses and doctors with other healthcare workers,
These has actually affected our healthcare system to the extent of our good and expert healthcare practitioners leaving our country and flying to a better country that will pay them well according to the services rendered.
This payment problem has been a major one because after some health workers put in their lives to serve people from some diseases that can also be contagious and they will not receive good pay it does not make sense and it is really discouraging and this is why many health professionals are leaving the country for a better place for well being paid services...
And to me i will say this is the major challenge because when you pay someone well he or she will have the zeal of work.
Another challenge over here is how the government is managing the healthcare facilities.
In some areas is really nothing to write home about .
The buildings are old, no much equipment for workers most especially things to use in practicing of aseptic technique in other to maintain asepsis and prevent both the healthcare giver and the patient.
