A lot of drama really happened on the final day of the Premier League season. There was drama everywhere, but the part I will be discussing right now is regarding the relegation battle.

Honestly, it was painful watching how everything ended for West Ham United.
The crazy thing is that they actually did their part and fought until the end. They went out there and comfortably beat Leeds United 3-0. At that moment, you would think a win like that should be enough to survive. But football does not always work that way.
Despite the victory, West Ham still ended the season with 39 points and were relegated to the Championship.
At the same time, Tottenham Hotspur were playing against Everton knowing fully well that their Premier League future really hinge on that match. The pressure must have been unbelievable. One mistake could have changed everything.
But Spurs managed to get the job done with a narrow 1-0 win over Everton. Even though it was not a flashy performance or some dominant victory, but it was enough. And sometimes in football, “enough” is all that really matters.
And that single win took Tottenham to 41 points and confirmed their Premier League status.
I can only imagine the emotions after the final whistle.
Tottenham players and fans celebrating survival like they had won a trophy, while West Ham players probably felt empty even after winning their own game. That is the painful side of football people do not talk more about enough.
Sometimes you can do what you are supposed to do and still not get the outcome you wanted because other results did not go the way you really wanted.
That is why the relegation battle is always one of the most emotional parts of football for me. It is raw, tense and unpredictable. No hiding place. Every goal matters. Every mistake matters as well.
In the end, Tottenham survived.
West Ham did not.
And that is football. Cruel, emotional and unpredictable till the very last day.
