There has been a lot of debate about who truly deserves the Premier League Player of the Season award for this campaign. Many people have mentioned players like Declan Rice and David Raya because of their massive contributions to Arsenal’s title-winning campaign. And honestly, they have both been outstanding this season.

But for me, one name stands above the rest which is Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United.
Sometimes football is not just about who lifts the trophy. Sometimes it is about who carried the biggest burden, who stepped up when everything depended on them, and who consistently delivered when the pressure was highest. That is exactly what Bruno Fernandes has done this season for Manchester United.
Without Bruno, I really do not think Manchester United would be back in the Champions League or finished at the position they do this season. He has been the heartbeat of the team from start to finish. Every important moment, every comeback, every crucial win, somehow Bruno was involved. Goals, assists, leadership, energy, creativity, he gave everything.
What even impresses me most is how he keeps producing despite the criticism he receives. Season after season, people doubt him, question his attitude, and sometimes overlook his influence. Yet when you look at the numbers and watch the games closely, you realize how important he really is.
This season, he has already equaled the 20 assist record set by Manchester City legend Kevin De Bruyne and Arsenal icon Thierry Henry. That alone tells you the level he has reached. And with one game still left to play, he has the chance to make history by becoming the player with the most assists in a single Premier League season.
That is not luck. That is brilliance.
To me, Bruno Fernandes has been the most creative, decisive, and influential player in the league this season. While others had strong systems around them, Bruno often looked like the one holding Manchester United together.
Football fans will always debate awards, and everyone has their opinion which is good. But personally, I believe Bruno Fernandes has fully earned the right to be called the Premier League Player of the Season.
