The countdown to March 28th is almost over! With the 19th season is almost here after analyzing the final squads and the latest trade deals, here is my Top 4 for the 2026 playoffs.
π My Top 4 Contenders π
1 - Mumbai Indians (MI) π¦
MI looks terrifying this year. With Hardik Pandya leading a core of Bumrah, Rohit, and Surya, they have the most balanced Indian contingent. Their auction strategy to bring in specialists in trade window makes them the team to beat for the top spot.
2 - Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) π΄
The defending champions are playing with a "winner's aura." Rajat Patidar is leading the charge, and with the Chinnaswamy crowd behind them, their batting depth is unmatched. Expect them to secure a Top 2 finish again.
3 - Punjab Kings (PBKS) π
Punjab has finally stopped the cycle of constant changes. Under Shreyas Iyer's captaincy, and with a lethal bowling attack featuring Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal, they have the grit to break their trophy drought.
4 - Rajasthan Royals (RR) π
A new era begins for the Royals with Riyan Parag as captain! Even after losing Samson, theyβve gained massive experience with the trade for Ravindra Jadeja. The opening duo of Jaiswal and the young prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi is going to be the most explosive in the league.
π₯ Teams to Watch Out For
While my Top 4 is set, you can never ignore these two powerhouses:
Chennai Super Kings (CSK):
Theyβve undergone a massive shake-up. With Sanju Samson joining Ruturaj Gaikwad at the top, their batting is pure "pedigree." If their young bowlers step up, they could easily crash the Top 4 party.
Gujarat Titans (GT):
Shubman Gill is a master tactician now. GT thrives on winning close games from impossible situations. They are the ultimate "dark horse" that no one wants to face in the business end of the tournament.
