Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. There has been an ongoing issue within the doors of FC Barcelona regarding Marc Andre Ter Stegen who is the first team goalkeeper at the club. It has not been an easy summer with Barcelona signing Joan Garcia to replace the German goalkeeper which he is still not happy about the situation and how his position has been diminished by the understandable club, but given his performance in the recent years it's was the right step the club needed to take in securing a new goalkeeper for the long run.
Ter Stegen decided last week that he would undergo surgery as he has issues with his lower back. According to multiple sources, this surgery will see the German goalkeeper out of action for the next four months, which has opened a door indirectly for the club to register Joan Garcia into the first team without any issues. Ter Stegen has not agreed with the reports from the club's medical team that he will be out for the next four months and is keen that his absence will only last up to three months.
The problem now is that if Ter Stegen doesn't accept these medical reports, it will make it hard for Barcelona to register Joan Garcia in the upcoming season, which is just a week from now. The club is not happy with Ter Stegen's attitude as he is making things difficult at the club, and I mentioned some time ago that there could be a hostile environment for Joan Garcia with Ter Stegen around which is already panning out. There are reports now that Barcelona has opened a legal case against Ter Stegen without the player's consent which just makes the situation more ugly.
Ter Stegen is still under contract with the club and is not ready to leave even when the club was willing to let him go and pay up all his wages. This situation has already gone up in smoke with both parties looking to maintain their interest. Barcelona has tried to handle the matter without all these issues escalating to this point, but the German goalkeeper has been difficult to handle. I am sure there will be a total strip of the captaincy title from Ter Stegen at this point as the club will not want a captain with this mentality in the dressing room.
The next couple of days will see more to this story, and from the reports already in the media, I doubt this will have a good ending. The saga is still far from over and I will be looking forward to seeing the steps Ter Stegen will take as well because I am sure he won't be backing down. Joan Garcia will be registered one way or the other before the season begins everything will follow through soon. The plan has already been made clear that he will be the main goalkeeper for Barcelona this season. So guys that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
