It's ever so hot these days. Summer is really in full flow, over here. I'm amazed at the amount of fluid I seem to be sweating out each day. The back of my neck for one, I'm trying to keep my hair tied up, until I have to free it, because mo part of me likes to be restricted or confined for too long. It's too hot to sit or lie anywhere, expect if it is in water. So I have me spray bottle next to me, my guilty plastic thing, my air con in a bottle, providing me with fresh cool air, for a few moments at a time. But bringing with it, such lovely moments of respite. Oh to feel cool, even if it is fleeing.
( I find myself dreaming of water once again)
If I have to go anywhere during the day, I wear a hat, which has been soaked in water and set of with my spry bottle in hand. Spraying water just in front of me, so that I get to walk into cooler air. I walk in the heat, pushing myself a a bit, until it starts to get too uncomfortable, then I freshen the air in front of me and then I myself feel fresher. Oh the gift of water and a bloody plastic bottle.
In the middle of the day, I lie on a wet sheet. Lately, I have even been napping a little. Working early morning, has certainly helped with that. I tend to drift off for an hour, two tops. I was up at 5 this morning, as I had watering to do. Usually the water is running alongside the outside of the land, when I arrive. But this morning, there was none flowing. I walked to the top of the road, as I knew to check there, to make sure the water was flowing in the correct direction.
I had to lift the top off a manhole, in order to change it over. Then I walked back hoping that it would reach the land. But no, it still hadn't. So I had to Zig Zag back, going where the water was flowing, until I could go no further, The water entered a property, where it was meant to flow through and then continue on it's way, to the land I'm caring for. It was no 6 a.m, too early to see if there was anyone awake, anyone to redirect the water, so that it flowed right through.
(One of my favourite local swimming spots)
I imagine, that after the Soccer result last night, quite a few of the locals may have forgotten what they were meant to be doing. As they were too busy celebrating. I could hear the screaming last night, so I knew Spain had won. Especially when I heard and saw fireworks in the distance. So I didn't call out. I just had to let it go. I was able to do a little but of the watering, from the pool, but the land didn't get the water it needed. I certainly started my day, very active.
After that, I came home and had some breakfast. My girls were still sleeping, so I sat for a few minutes, enjoying the cooler air. Then I tied up a bit, before my next job. A cleaning job, not too far from truck. It was already starting to heat up and I found myself sweating, especially when I was hoovering. By the time I got home, it was midday and hot. I got home, put my feet into some water, wet my head, then lay down and napped for a while. Waking up with the sweat dripping off of me.
The day is spend, keeping myself damp, that's the best way to do it. Then I made some lunch. Sweating all the while, it's just inevitable.
