Malaysia's Anwar Ibrahim announced on Wednesday the Pakatan Harapan (Alliance of Hope) coalition nominated him as its candidate for prime minister.Anwar's People's Justice Party (PKR) members also announced they are putting his name forward as the country's leader.
The announcement follows the resignation on Monday of Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, who is currently running Malaysia in an acting capacity.
