Greece's first female president, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, was confirmed for a five-year term on Friday at a function downsized due to the coronavirus flare-up.
Sakellaropoulou, 64, an ex-leader of the Council of State, Greece's top regulatory court, will succeed Prokopis Pavlopoulos.
Sakellaropoulou made a strict vow at a function bound to a predetermined number of legislators and different authorities as Greece has dropped open social events and shut schools and theaters to stem the spread of the infection.
