Hello everyone, we are here again with the latest weekly contest by with the prompt:
Inspiration - Who is the person who inspires you the most? Why do they inspire you? What characteristics of that person inspire you?
Many people draw inspiration from various sources. It could be work, religious, or simply close friends or family members. It could also be from situations of life.
I have come across many people in life and I draw inspiration from most of them. But the outstanding one comes from the School Principal where I teach. She is indeed an epitome of hardwork and excellence. She leads by example.
When we started with her in the school, there were few teachers, the pioneer teachers. The students were few then. But as time goes on the students' population began to increase and the need for more hands arose. As it is customary, head teachers do not teach in the class. They do basically administrative work and may request the management to employ more hands to cater for the teaming population of students when need be.
Mrs, Okoli, the Principal did not toe that line. Instead she saw the need to fill the vacuum and decided to be lecturing too; thereby relieving the stress on the shoulders of the few teachers on ground. When you see her in the class teaching you will never believe that she is the school principal. Her unassuming disposition endears her to me and to the entire staff as a whole.
Talk about punctuality and disciple, she has it too. She reports to work well ahead of other staff who are under her supervision. She never misses school and her classes except on few occasions when she took ill. This also made more people to emulate her. But as the school continues to grow both in number of streams and students, more staff were employed and she reverted to her admin job.
After about seven years , I left the school in search of greener pastures but the enduring characters of Mrs. Okoli still remains in my memory and really inspires me till date.
