Hello everyone, have you ever recieved some words of wisdom from anyone which stays true all the time? Who did you get the words of advice from? Well, over time we meet various people and encounter different different challenges in life. I, as a child, teenager and now an adult have encountered many challenges and I've.also received quite some words of advice from people. Actually, most make sense at those time of the challenges and even serve as guides for future occurances and course of living. But the ones that have stuck so long has been the ones from mom.
The first one is: "the earlier...the better..."
This is usually said by her whenever a task is given and one is either late to do it or even procrastinating. She prefers an early take off for everything. The earlier you begin a task, the better time you will have to accomplish it. That takes care of hushing and rushing things which may lead to poor or low quality job.
Then procrastination, she will also sound the note of warning...the earlier you begin the task the better for everyone. This helps me to be on the toes, so to say; not to slack or shift activities to a later date.
It has really helped me alot and has served as a guide in most of the things I do. Never to procrastinate and never to begin work or any given assignment behind schedule. It saves me stress and the last minute rushing of everything.
The next one is: " have patience my dear..."
Patience is a virtue most people do not have. But I am telling you that once one have and exercise it when necessary it is always rewarding. There is also an adage that says the patient dog eats the fattest bone. Mom will always say "have patience dear"... She says it in the most cool and calm voice. A sort of a soothing balm to calm the nerves when it becomes too much one one to bear a situation.
Patience, when exercised in the appropriate situation will always yield better results. "Have you ever gone to an office and was told that the fellow you are looking for is not on seat and you waited for few minutes and left, only for the person to turn up the next minute? How do you feel when you are told that he or she is back and you are already far gone? Downcast, right?
Thus said, these are the few ones I'll highlight here that has stuck within me for years now and honestly, they have been paying off.
