Women are very powerful beings. We have the ability to carry out several tasks at the same time and frequency. We are resilient, * intuitive*, witty and beautiful and sometimes, because we are fixers, we sometimes take charge of anything and everything we find ourselves with.
If a woman is found among males in a group, you better believe that she will be the one calling the shots. It's just in our nature and I believe that the creator added that to our being for easy functionality in life.
From ancient times, women have been known to occupy positions of power and authority and so far, these women have been successful in their reign. Women in government seats and offices, perform excellently well because of that special gift we carry…resilience.
A Matriarchy is a great government system even though the masculine gender will disagree but it is what it is. I say this boldly because of the numerous advantages that Matriarchy has over patriarchy and some are;
#1. Ability to empathize**
Mothers are known to have a special soft spot that aids them in being emotionally supportive and caring towards their subjects.
#2. Resilience
Women are usually quite resilient, like an elastic. We are able to stretch to great lengths and readily get back to our original form before the stretch.
I recall watching a movie titled wonder woman and the first part of the movie showed women of the Amazon. Their daily lives was intense but interesting and they had order. I saw their strength, unity and organizational prowess shine through and it was such a joy.
#3. Nurturing
A matriarchy is focused on nurturing its subjects for survival and sustenance. Women aren't actually power driven as much as the men folk and as such, citizens can be rest assured that everyone will be taken care of.
Will I support a matriarchy?
Yes I will, even though the chances of a matriarchy blooming globally is very slim but no doubt, I would greatly support such a government. Afterall, government seats were not only made for the male folk rather, it was made for those with the technical know-how on how to lead and manage resources, irrespective of gender.
Gone are the days where females were looked down upon and regarded as social misfits, good only for the kitchen and bedroom. Nowadays, many women are doing exploits all over the world in different fields of industries and no doubt, if a government is run by women, it would thrive even better than a patriarchy but there is still much to be done before matriarchy.
One factor out of the many factors that I feel is a big hindrance to Matriarchy is the idea or notion that this world is a man's world. This idea has actually led to an invisible gender divide that places a limitation on the female gender's capabilities.
An example I would cite happened in my country during an electoral season several years ago. A woman ran for presidency but only got two votes in total after the election, despite having many supporters during her rally and campaign.
It was shocking because it revealed how the mindset of people are and I even heard a few men within my area make statements like ”How can a woman rule us?” It is such a shame that there are people still stuck in their old ways.
Well, all we can do is watch how the future unfolds.
