Hello everyone, in this edition of #qc weekly contest, the question goes thus:
This week's topic: Reading - Do you like to read? What kind of books, magazines, newspapers or articles do you like to read? Why do you like to read that?
This week #queercoin contest is a fascinating one, I believe everyone likes to read, it could be ranging from books, magazines, articles, newspapers, blogs and so on. Well, in this life, I like that we have the option to choose whatever we like to read to satisfy our minds. Although, it is necessary as students to read their books if you want to excel in your studies. So you can see that it is an inherent part of life whether we like it or not. The question now is what kind of books do you find nourishing to your soul.
For me, I like reading literature books or novels, novels that encapsulate different spheres of life, that embodies different career choices and lifestyle of particular people. It makes me smarter and versatile in such areas. There is no way you won't learn something new, the grammar and vocabulary development is another thing.
For instance, this is one of my literature books titled "the crocodile girl" written by a Nigerian author, Sam Omatseye. I have learnt a lot from this book because it digs deep into the Nigerian society that is somewhat consumed with hatred and injustice. Thus, bridging a gap between the western world belief and the African beliefs.
From the foregoing, through reading I learnt, though still learning, the belief of the western world as against that of the African world.
