The #queercoin community's contest is quite relatable and it goes thus:
What festivities do you celebrate in December? How do you celebrate them? With whom do you celebrate? What traditions do you have to celebrate it
A Festivity is a regular occurrence of a celebration where joyful merriment takes place. Just like the Christmas and new year for example, has become a festival that people look forward to every year. So in December, the festivity accustomed to it is Christmas celebration no doubt.
The Christmas celebration for me is best celebrated with family. This period every member of the family comes together and we travel down to our hometown to celebrate, it has always been a ritual. In the course of celebration, food is never an exception rather it is plentiful. We cook different varieties of food ranging from local to foreign, we could have pounded yam and egusi soup, fried rice and chicken, jollof rice with salad. We get drinks and wines to toast to good life.
The only tradition involved in celebration is that when the family comes together, We shop for groceries on the eve of Christmas, attend vigil into the Christmas day, the morning we cook the celebratory meals, get dressed, exchange gifts and merry.
It's all about celebrating the birth of Jesus, our lord and Savior. So we all must merry.
