I agreed with almost everything you said, except for the part about fear not being able to hurt you. There are people trapped in harmful relationships because they're afraid of ending up alone, because they fear losing custody of their children, or because they fear being killed. And at the other end of that same spectrum, there are also people who are so afraid of being hurt that they sometimes end up killing their abusers. This isn't the norm, but saying that fear can't hurt you isn't entirely true.
