¿Cuál es tu definición de “pensamiento crítico”?

Para ser honesta, esta frase no es una que haya aprendido en la escuela, o en el colegio y ni siquiera en la Universidad...y tengo una teoría de conspiración al respecto, pero eso se desvía bastante del tema.

Haciendo una pequeña tarea de investigación, descubro que los orígenes del pensamiento crítico se remontan a la Antigua Grecia, y son referentes Sócrates, Platón y Aristóteles.

La definición de pensamiento crítico que concluyo de lo que leí, es que es básicamente utilizar la lógica y el razonamiento para cuestionar , analizar y contrastar una información o un hecho. Lo que implica que no se asume como cierto nada hasta haber utilizado el "pensamiento crítico".

¿Cuán importante crees que es la capacidad de pensar críticamente, y por qué?

La capacidad de pensar críticamente es tan importante que no podemos dimensionarlo, es lo que nos separa del resto de los animales y nos hace evolucionar, porque las élites intelectuales y políticas se aprovechan de la falta de pensamiento crítico de la sociedad para manipularla y no precisamente para buenos fines.

¿Crees que todas las personas tienen pensamiento crítico?

Creo que la capacidad de ejercer el pensamiento crítico está asociada a un mínimo de inteligencia, pero también se debe ejercitar y estimular. El pensamiento crítico se puede desarrollar leyendo mucho, y cuestionando todo, analizando ideas y reflexionando, pero esto es algo que los humanos son castigados por hacer en la niñez. Los niños suelen ser unos filósofos natos, queriendo saber los porqués del porqué y como funciona el mundo, pero en muchos casos, esa curiosidad molesta a los mayores y muchos padres prefieren dar un celular o una consola de juego para "ocupar" a sus hijos.

¿Qué podríamos hacer como sociedad para enseñar a otros a pensar críticamente?

Lo que podríamos hacer como sociedad para conseguir la libertad de pensar críticamente es cambiar el sistema, y es algo que los poderosos no quieren. Pero quienes tienen hijos, tienen la fantástica oportunidad de enseñarles a pensar críticamente y alguna vez lograr una mejor sociedad.
