I am running out of time to become famous, a super rich sportsman or rock star. I suppose nothings impossible but I don't think I have ever really been chasing it either, the extra money might be nice but I don't think I could handle at the attention and fame.
Then again, I suppose I was famous at work!
It started when I spent 3 years at a cement factory as a casual contractor. Then went to work at another big factory for 18 years. A lot of people work at places a long time but as a casual contactors every day? They usually come and go. No one else at my company achieved anything like it especially as I was doing project work as well as service and breakdowns.
Over 18 years I saw a lot of changes, different owners, many bosses and endless rules regulations. Thinking back makes me laugh as they tried to get rid of me many times but I knew too much and worked harder than there own people. I cost them a lot of money but they could not afford to get rid of me until eventually the times forced changes.
In the end they did not care if the machines did not run and production stopped. They seemed happy if things broke and they would have a meeting later to workout who to blame. A pretty sad sort of progression but it was good to be out and it was definitely time for a change. My fame came to an end!
