It is interesting to look back at some of the goals I have set during my life. Were they all just me or was I heavily influenced, I suppose it is a bit of both but for me goals that I was influenced about did not seem to last long, sure I have tried lots of different things but goals I really wanted and seemed to be more naturally me always just felt more right. Goals, guidelines or maybe they were just more like targets, something to aim and or push for.
I suppose finishing school getting a trade and a job, earning a bit of money and doing a bit of travel was the first goal. I am not sure whether to call that one goal or five but I remember it being my overall plan for a number of years. As long as I could see progress and some light at the end of the tunnel. I was happy enough grinding away.
After getting my qualifications and doing a bit of travel, I was ready to settle down, bought some real estate, got a massive loan and started a family. I suppose the main goal there was just to get by and pay the loan off, again it took years, many decades. The main trick was to find the right balance between working too hard, paying the loan off and spending on living. We did ok but thinking back on all the money spent on wants instead of just needs we could have done much better.
My first piece of real estate.
Thinking about a goal for the next stage of my life seems a little more complicated. I get the feeling fitness and heath will be a much higher focus but again it will need to be a long term building and compounding goal, maybe I need to build my time spent on fitness and heath just to maintain my current health and strength for as long as possible.
