Persistence Is my super power, sometimes it feels like the only thing I have got. It seems to take me ages to catch on and get things right but if I persist it does not take that long before things start to fall into place.
Skiing is a a good example. I remember we used to do these big day trips driving up to the local mountains near Melbourne and I would send most of my time falling down. We never went enough to really catch on and could not afford lessons. It was not until after I finished my electrical Apprentice that I got a job and lived up in the Australian ski mountains. This is when my persistence really started to kick in. We were able to get cheaper staff season lift tickets. I planned to ski every day and rarely missed, I liked to start each day with a few runs down the race course before my legs got too tired. I started off one of the weakest skier at our ski hotel but ended up one of the best. Slowly and surely I got faster and more competitive on the race course. Each Thursday our hotel booked the race course out for a fun little in house competition. We used to film it and play it straight after dinner on the big screen in the hotel bar. I used to love it, it kept me motivated to keep learning and practicing. I don't think I would have ever stopped trying. I only stopped at the close and end of our winter season. I would not call it stubbornness, just very healthy persistence.
