Valentine's Day is pretty big in my Country, mostly between romantic couples, mainly because it has been commercialized and become a massive business. I have hear it is the busiest day of the year for the florists and I bet it is not far off for chocolate and eating out places too. I have not heard of it being celebrated too much between family and friends but why not especially if Priest Valentine was sainted for dishing out love and miracles to anyone not just his girl friend or partner.
Generally I try to stay out of any things that will cost me a lot of money and profit others but I suppose over the years I have partaken in some of the rituals around this special day indented to remember one of the many different old stories about the martyrdom of the Christian Priest Valentine of Rome.
Generally it was just a card or flowers from my gardens when it was excepted, what ever was cheap with the promise of a weekend away some where nice at a less expensive time of year.
I do not recall ever waiting and using Valentine's day as a big first move, that would have been way to embarrassing if I had a crashed and burned.
We will not be doing any things special on the 14th this year. Luckily I saw this post tag reminder so I would not forgot. Even luckier for me it is like Valentines day every day of the year!
