Greetings, amazing friends of HIVE! I trust you’re all doing great.
I'm so happy to be part of this contest for the first time. Welcome to my blog!
Before answering the questions asked, let me define the two main concepts:
Greed
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, greed is an excessive desire for more of something (such as money) than is needed.
Ambition
According to the same dictionary, ambition is the desire to achieve a particular goal or end.
How can we differentiate between greed and ambition?
Greed is an excessive, self-centered desire that does not consider whether the means of achieving a goal is right or wrong. It is insatiable and often leads to destruction or failure.
Ambition, on the other hand, is also a strong desire, but it is goal-oriented rather than selfish. It involves setting clear goals and taking thoughtful, calculated steps toward achieving them.
Looking closely at the picture above, you’ll notice the ambitious person is taking deliberate steps to reach her goal. She simply focused on reaching her destination. Ambition, when kept in check, often leads to success. Ambition is goal- oriented.
Do you think ambition can eventually turn into greed? Why ?
Yes, I believe ambition can turn into greed. When ambition becomes excessive and loses its focus on ethical boundaries, it can easily shift into greed.
