Hola a todos, muy buenos días. Cuando dije que mi tiempo estaba medido desde las últimas semanas, lo decía muy en serio. La organización quedó tan cerrada o mejor dicho, apretada, que sabía que al tratar de integrar alguna nueva actividad, esto implicaría pausar otra de las que ya vengo desarrollando… sencillamente, no se pueden realizar todas a la vez. Pero siempre va a ser necesario reorganizar el tiempo, al llegar algo que también es de suma importancia, y que requiere de mi atención.
Les comenté que hace más de medio mes, resguardé en mi casa a una perrita cachorra que abandonaron en la zona, y que estaba en riesgo de ser atropellada, ya que por su desconocimiento de las calles, y lo desorientada que andaba, se atravesaba en las avenidas cercanas. Conjuntamente con la Fundación Huellas por la vida, y el apoyo de varios proteccionistas, se logró llevar a Blanquita (así la llamé), a la jornada de esterilización más reciente.
Ya hoy es el día 6 desde su operación, y ella ha evolucionado bastante bien, se ha recuperado, come bien, hace sus necesidades, y se mueve más de la cuenta, hasta tengo que limitarla colocándole a ratos la cuerda de paseo y poniéndole unas sábanas a mi lado para que no brinque, porque aunque la herida externa está seca, se debe cuidar la parte interna también.
Los dos primeros días fueron incómodos para ella porque no se trataba únicamente de tenerla aislada de la tropa, llevar la faja y amarrarla cerca de mí, sino la presencia del collarín isabelino que no lo soportaba, y al que tuve que hacerle unos arreglos para ponerlo más largo porque la muy inteligente con ayuda de las patitas, echaba la cabecita hacia adelante y lograba sacar la punta de la trompa.
Por ahora debe seguir usando su faja, que tuve que hacerle 6 ya que se hacía pipí, por lo que me fui al cementerio de franelas viejas y con la ayuda de una tijera y un tutorial de Youtube, confeccioné sus fajitas. Los dos primeros días sólo se le dio caldo de patitas de pollo, crema de auyama, huevito, cosas blandas para que no se lastimara la herida haciendo pupis. Pero esta niña, ya el día 2, estaba normal.
Al tercer día dejé que la tropa la visitara a la habitación, y luego salieron juntos al patio, pero sin Snoopy, porque sus juegos son muy bruscos. Y en efecto, ayer los dejé estar juntos unos minutos, y de inmediato comenzaron a jugar como locos, así que los separé nuevamente hasta que cumpla su periodo post operatorio.
El proceso de esterilización fue rápido y muy bien organizado. Nos citaron por horarios separados, y de esa manera no se dieron las aglomeraciones y las largas esperas. Después de pesar a Blanquita, se la llevaron para colocarle la anestesia, la operación no tardó más de 15 min, pero la dejaron en reposo un poco más de media hora para asegurarse de que despertaba bien de la anestesia.
Me la entregaron más dormida que despierta, y nos vinimos a la casa donde comenzó su post operatorio que es por 10 días, con 5 días de antibióticos, analgésicos y antiinflamatorios que ya se cumplieron, las curas de la herida con agua oxigenada, solución fisiológica, y azul de metileno, y la faja que debe llevar por 10 días, y por último los paseos supervisados un poco más largos después de dos semanas.
Ahora sólo espero que Blanquita se sienta bien en su nuevo hogar, gracias a Dios la tropa la aceptó desde el primer día, algo que me sorprendió por lo territoriales que son. Todos sus gastos de operación, alimentación, kit de curas, traslados a la jornada, y accesorios necesarios, corrió por cuenta de sus padrinos proteccionistas.
Este proceso me hace feliz, quizás no podemos ayudarlos a todos, pero si podemos cambiarle la vida a algunos. Es lamentable el abandono hoy en día, pero gracias a Dios aumenta el número de ángeles en la Tierra para ayudarlos. Gracias por visitar mi blog… feliz día para todos.

Hello everyone, good morning. When I said my time was limited these past few weeks, I meant it. The schedule became so tight, or rather, so congested, that I knew trying to incorporate any new activity would mean pausing one of the things I was already working on… simply put, you can't do them all at once. But it will always be necessary to reorganize time when something important comes up that requires my attention.
I mentioned that over two weeks ago, I took in a puppy that had been abandoned in the area and was at risk of being hit by a car. Because she didn't know the streets and was so disoriented, she kept wandering into the road. Together with the Huellas por la Vida Foundation and the support of several animal rescuers, we were able to take Blanquita (that's what I named her) to the most recent spay/neuter clinic.
Today is day six since her surgery, and she's progressed quite well. She's recovered, eating well, going to the bathroom, and moving around more than usual. I even have to limit her by putting her on a leash for short periods and placing some sheets next to her so she doesn't jump, because even though the external wound is dry, the internal area needs to be protected as well.
The first two days were uncomfortable for her because it wasn't just about keeping her isolated from the group, wearing the harness, and tying her up near me, but also the Elizabethan collar, which she couldn't stand. I had to make some adjustments to lengthen it because, clever as she is, she would use her paws to push her head forward and get the tip of her snout out.
For now, she has to continue wearing her harness, which I had to make six of since she was peeing. So I went to the junkyard of old flannels and, with the help of scissors and a YouTube tutorial, I made her harnesses. For the first two days, she was only given chicken foot broth, pumpkin cream, and a soft egg—soft things so she wouldn't hurt her wound by pooping. But by day two, this little girl was back to normal.
On the third day, I let the gang visit her in her room, and then they went out to the yard together, but without Snoopy, because their games are very rough. And sure enough, yesterday I let them be together for a few minutes, and they immediately started playing like crazy, so I separated them again until she completes her post-operative period.
The sterilization process was quick and very well organized. We were scheduled at separate times, and that way there were no crowds or long waits. After weighing Blanquita, they took her to be given the anesthesia. The operation didn't take more than 15 minutes, but they left her to rest for a little over half an hour to make sure she woke up well from the anesthesia.
They handed her over to me more asleep than awake, and we came to the house where she began her 10-day post-operative recovery. This included 5 days of antibiotics, painkillers, and anti-inflammatories, which are now finished. She also had her wound treated with hydrogen peroxide, saline solution, and methylene blue, and she has to wear a support bandage for 10 days. Finally, after two weeks, she started slightly longer supervised walks.
Now I just hope Blanquita feels comfortable in her new home. Thank God the family accepted her from day one, which surprised me because of how territorial they usually are. All her expenses—surgery, food, first-aid kit, transportation to the rescue, and necessary accessories—were covered by her rescue sponsors.
